Background
Regular SME site visits are a part of NGO Nguriza Nshore’s strategic communications and awareness raising goals; however COVID-19 and related travel restrictions have made in-person site visits unviable to conduct. Given this, the NGO elected to hold a Zoom site tour featuring a SME focused on financial services. To make the site visit a success, Nguriza Nshore requested social media assistance aimed at informing USAID stakeholders about the value of the event.
Action
I developed the strategic messaging and social media content before, during, and after the event for Nguriza Nshore, journalist influencers, and investor partners. This messaging amplified the novelty of a virtual site tour and how Nguriza Nshore continues to support SMEs in Rwanda in spite of the challenging circumstances brought on by COVID-19.
Impact
- Launched a new social media presence for the SME
- Over 1,300,000 impressions and 164 engagements across the hour long event
- Created a social media image template for Nguriza Nshore
- Spread awareness of Nguriza Nshore activities to key stakeholders, particularly from USAID and the investor community
