Background
The Rwandan Ministry of Trade and Commerce (MINICOM) drafted a new entrepreneurship development policy (EDP) aimed at increasing business growth and job creation in Rwanda. The policy was to be officially launched via a hybrid in-person and virtual event, in-line with the country’s COVID-19 regulations. To prepare for the unveiling, MINICOM requested support in amplifying the launch ceremony across various communications channels with Twitter being a primary messaging tool.
Action
The support included raising awareness of the event and the EDP in the days leading to the ceremony through traditional media and social media, designing graphics related to the event, and the creation of social media kits and press kits for partner institutions and journalists. Influencers were also identified and engaged in the lead-up and during the event.
Impact
- Over 500 posts by partners, influencers, and attendees
- Over 11 million impressions
- Over 2000 engagements on MINICOM’s channels
- Approximately 2000 Eventbrite registrations to the virtual event
