Background
USAID’s Nguriza Nshore program aims to increase private and commercial investment in promising SMEs across Rwanda. The program was in need of bespoke investor-targeted marketing materials for individual SMEs attending a large international investment conference.
Action
I met with 10 individual SMEs (from dairy products to microfinance) to develop a compelling narrative for their business, undertake a digital presence audit, and design printed materials for use at the conference. Each SME was provided with an investment one-pager, pitch document preparation, business cards, and actions for improving their digital presence (particularly website and social media). This support was provided in two consecutive years.
Impact
- In total 19 individually written and designed investment documents
- Social media interaction with key players at the event
- On average, 2 follow up meetings with interested investors post-event – the key measure for success for this project
